withdrawal

from blogging, from the Internet. i have withdrawal. i have so much to catch up on, but haven't had a chance to blog or get online at home. bear with me fans, bear with me.

my 2 pumpkins :)

we finally (well, muelu and kymora) dug into those pretty pumpkins we had sitting on our porch.
kymora gets such a kick out of this. i let her wear her costume to get into the spirit of halloween.
muelu has her draw the faces and he cuts.

kainoa was not interested in the whole process- just the end result.

mr. stand-up-by-himself/can-take-6-7-steps-by-himself is doing just that! he will walk very, very soon :( ... i'm kinda torn.
it was an eventful night. muelu being the good daddy, topped off the festivities with some good ole fashioned brownies.. :) yum!

1 year, 1 month, 1 day

i just liked these pictures. 13 months old. he is attached to me, loves to eat. right now his favorites: grapes, cheerios (he giggles w/giddiness when i open the box), rice, meat, broccoli, fruit and water. still only has 6 teeth, but can EAT. gives kisses, blows kisses, points to where he wants to go, can take 3-4 steps, and loves to dance. sounds like an ad in the paper huh?

kindergarten rocks!

this is my big girl. i can't believe she is in kindergarten. she totally loves her new school. she's made friends: chloe, sonoko, and sophie. throw in kymora and you've got an odd bunch of names. she can go all the way across the monkey bars now, with out help, she plays in the sandbox and makes 'clay'. which really means she's playing in mud. two boys called her 'babe' and her dad told her to threaten them with a black eye. so i guess school is good. i'm just glad she adjusted.

is it in the genes?

what happened to my quiet baby boy? i don't know, but i think this kid ate him. here he is 'crying' to get out of the crib. 5 seconds later, here he is smiling, or should i say laughing at me for being a sucker.

he is such a crack up. still not walking, still has 6 teeth. but, command him to dance and his shoulders pop like no tomorrow. remember the boy who was a skinny little baby? yah, well he's gone too. kainoa is a little chubster who loves to eat EVERYTHING, twice.

oh, and yes, this post is dedicated to my cousin mihan. which is why i pose the question, 'is it in the genes?' sunday afternoon, i found my kyks like this.

maybe she reads tita mihan's blog at night and decided to sleep malaya style. lol :) btw, happy 31st pinsan.

aaaaaaaaand the winner is...

we had our 1st annual cook off this weekend. the kids all had to make a dessert and were judged on presentation and taste.

the salanoa's entry (kymora w/our help)
brownies with green icing (her choice)
judges were uncle danny, muelu and raelord. although some opinions were biased, the winner of the lovely snowglobe trophy wasssssssss..........
vihna wickham!!! yay!!! it was so fun to see the kids get into it. there was some trash talking, but what competitive sport wouldn't have it? the parents were banned from helping, hence, the boxed brownies.. ;)

weekend was good. other than the cookoff, kyks and kai just hung out. he's really into this right now...

oh the guilt...

ok, so the guilt did kick in. we didn't have a big ol' shin-dig, partaaaay, celebration for kainoa's first. 'buuuut how cooooould you?! it's his first birthday' we constantly got asked. our response or our mantra should i say, became, 'he wont remember it. he wont be able to enjoy it.' that was our story and we stuck to it. (side note- kainoa, when you are old enough to read this, we do NOT favor your sister. your 3rd bday will be a blaaaaast) hehe.
what we did do though was have a lunch with my mom and dad and my mom's side on saturday. sunday we went to my inlaws and my parents came over. short.sweet.nice.
