happy 6th birthday, kymora :)

this year will take you into first grade. not so babyish classes, a little more grown up. you're a good, smart, funny, athletic, sarcastic ;) kid. my first born growing up.

i hope life leads you to great things. it's true what they say, you can do anything you put your mind to. i hope that you laugh, cry, love, dance, and appreciate all that life has to offer. i always say, you have two jobs in this world for now: do well in school and HAVE FUN! daddy and i only wish you the best.

six things you may not have known:
1. my water broke at 3:45 am, 6 years ago.
2. you loved trucks more than dolls by the time you were 2.
3. i made alllllllll of your food (baby food at that!) up until you were 1. no jars!
4. i didn't let you eat cake on your first birthday (the sugar thing was my worst fear)
5. you had a small hole in your heart that worried us, then found out was normal :)
6. we didn't know how much we could love you

there's always next year

no matter what anyone says, i think the lakers played phenomenal this season. we'll get them next year boys!

prelude to summer...

this kid loves sitting in a chair. any chair. if it's outside, inside, big, small, he will climb up it and just sit. as you can tell from these pictures, he was super excited when we pulled out his own chair and umbrella accompanied by a cup holder and sippy cup.

these pictures just remind me how close summer is.. and how i hope to be doing a lot of this 'sitting' thing w/umbrella at the beach. sans sippy cup, of course :)

this is where i'll be at in a few days/months... my 5 year old will be 6, my 1 year old will be 2 in a few months. kymora will start first grade after summer.. ahhh!!!! but right now, i'm right here:
here where kainoa is saying more and more everyday. rice, pish (fish with an accent), down, poo poo (randomly, doesn't mean it's happening), juice, wasdis?, eat, and of course, miiine. it seems like he learns new words everyday.
here where kymora is my new laker buddy. we watch the games together religiously. she doesn't make it through whole game, but she has fun yelling, wearing my laker shirt, getting snacks together for game night.
she has done well in kinder. her writing is getting so neat, words are forming sentences and paragraphs. she still loves to draw and right now, she is still having fun with her brother :)

here is where i want to be. where are we on that time machine anyway?
