my big helper

kymora and kainoa. the greatest. kymora has been the biiiigggest help to me lately. for those of you that don't know (the 3 folks who follow my blog so you do know) i'm expecting #3. and boy has this one been kicking my butt. but thanks to my team- muelu/kymora, things have been coming along ok. kymora has really stepped up. she cleans up after us when we eat, cleaning up table, rinsing/loading the dishwasher, watching kainoa, getting his cereal in the morning, putting laundry away, cleaning the toilet/sink, cleaning her room. omg, this is my go to girl. anything i ask her to do, it's done. i just wanted her to know when she's 18 that she was mommy's greatest help when she was young.

kainoa.. now i just had to add some funny stuff he's said to me lately:
i told him the barbie movies was for girls, his response, 'it's not for girls, it's for KIDS.'
when i asked him if he saved me ice cream, 'you shouldn't eat ice cream. you have a baby in your tummy, you should eat sandwich.'
when he asked where i was, i said, work. he asked where aunty jeanna was, i said work, his response, 'oh you're at work together.'
and lastly, i love it when he says, 'hey mom! i lub you.' that's my favorite.

so simple

that's kainoa. today, we went outside to get in the car and my car was covered in water. the rain hit us hard this morning. kainoa was giggling with pure delight. he kept laughing and saying, mom, your car is wet! it's raining! i feel like this kid has never seen rain before. it just reminded me of how easily this boy is pleased. the simplest things really crack him up. it's so innocent, i love it.
at ralphs the other day he had to pull kymora into the aisle to point out some halloween decorations. he was just laughing and pointing at the skulls. 'ate, look! so funny!' i think i've deprived him. so, this weekend muelu and i decorated our house w/cobwebs, spiders, Dracula's, skulls, eyeballs.. the whole nine. when kainoa walked in he was amazed! he kept oohing and ahhing and giggling. later on that day he even thanked me and muelu for putting up 'spiderwoods'. wth. whatever that meant, the boy was truly please.. and happy. oh, gosh, please don't grow up. i love this stage.

kainoa and knotts

equal's a love affair. unfortunately, for kai's 3rd bday, i had training in san diego. luckily, muelu didn't have school today so he decided to take kainoa to knotts for his first time.

this guy had a BLAST. muelu's report: kainoa rode the truck ride 22 times, the bus ride 15 times, and the log ride 9 times. not including the many roller coaster rides they shared. apparently, this kid was not afraid to go on anything! (and, he ate candy all day....)

these guys are serious roller coaster riders as they were at knotts from 10-6pm.

quick roller coaster video:
about the 22 second mark his whole face lights up. he's laughing and bobbling around. so bummed i missed it.

i'm so glad that muelu made a big deal of today. he's good like that...

ps- pics are from muelu's camera phone- sorry!

happy 3rd birthday, kainoa!

today my boy turned 3 :) i'm overjoyed that he is getting bigger, but at the same time, my heart breaks. you guys know how i feel about my kids getting older. bitter sweet.

this boy is my sweet baby boy. so much different from girls. from kymora. his speech isn't the best, but i think we over look that because we WANT him to still be a baby. he is definitely a true little boy. he loves cars and trucks, dirt and mud. he plays in the back yard by himself in shorts and no shoes. he's fearless. he loves dogs. his laugh is goofy. his feet smell like boy. he smiles big when he knows he is in trouble, and i give in, and look away. for some reason this kid melts my heart.

kainoa, happy birthday luv. my baby boy, 3 today... we love you soo much!

summer luvin'

happened so fast! ;) where did 2009 summer go?

kymora is in 2nd grade. she's got so many new teeth :( she looks completely different. no more baby teeth, no more baby face. she recently had 4 teeth removed like a champ.

kainoa is going to be 3. this picture is the cutest to me. even though they fight, they love each other so much. i think this picture says a lot about their relationship. funny, kainoa adores his sister so much. but she, welllll, she tolerates him. lol
(that's her flicking his head, btw)

i can't believe summer is over. no more late nights, movies, sleeping in, quick trips to santa maria, or where ever, no more bbqs, no more kids home all day. ;(

couldn't resist!

contrary to what my recent blogs have been about, i do not have favorites. when i was home sick i was on you tube trying to learn about my camera. kyks wasn't home, so i was experimenting with kainoa. (photo above is how he smiles now;)
he just has so many faces, i had to post! as my dad would say in the 70's about me, 'the many moods of kainoa'... (he actually named a photo album of me 'the many moods of autumn' haha)

pouting cause i wouldn't let him take 'smiles' of me on my camera:
trying a to play with some of my settings, so he force smiles:

and my favorite:
not sure if it's cause he looks like my tito pidong here (who i miss so much) or what... but i really like this one.
btw, i did not master my white balance, aperture, iso. my pictures came out grainy which means my aperture was slow, blah blah. anyway, i still like these shots.

next post- kyks! ;)
