a little rain

make that a whole lotta rain! this week so cal's prediction- storm, storm, storm. today was a holiday so we didn't have work/school. when the rain started to hit hard daddy made paper boats and 'raced' them along the curb. the kids loved the idea of putting on some jackets and playing in the rain. the funny thing is, my dad used to do the same thing w/me. we'd walk for what seemed liked hours racing these homemade paper boats. the rain was a bonus. on a day where most parents wouldn't let their kids step out, my dad and muelu encouraged it.

after some paper boat racing, we headed to the park. yes, the park. muelu took us to the park where he would boogy board down the grass hills in the rain. the kids had a blast. unfortunately, the rain slowed down, but they got some good 'air' going down the wet, muddy, grass hills. we go back this week if it rains again, where will definitely bring my camera.

we are now home enjoying the warm heat, coffee and some tv :)

mr. personality

my funny man. kainoa asked me to take his pictures (w/my phone..). it's so hard to stay mad at him w/these faces. he'll quickly say sorry and try to kiss you or give you the big bottom lip look. these faces are his funny faces. and they really are ;)

the end of the tornadoes

the tangerine tornadoes that is. kymora's soccer team had their end of the season party/award ceremony. we will miss this team. it was the best team we played for. our coach was great and the team mom was awesome. kymora learned so much this season. wish us luck for next season for a new team will be put together.

2010

i can't believe it's already 2010. we rung in the new year the best way ever- at the laker game! well, we weren't there at midnight Dec 31, but we spent new years day at the staples center. mihan and the girls came down and we had a good time. believe it or not, it was my first time there. kobe shot a 3 at the last second to beat Sacramento. kymora, tala, and malaya were so happy. it was funny watching them get into the game.
laya and kyks after they finally won. i think the stress made the girls' eczema act up .. haha.

we love when our biggity biggity bay visitors come!

christmas 2009

i think this christmas was one of the best. kainoa finally really understood the concept. kymora and kainoa helped decorate my house, my mom's house and my lola's house. this is the first year that i took off a week while the kids were out of school, so all four of us were home together. it was nice to have a christmas break to ourselves before the baby is born.
we made gingerbread houses, took a trip to candy cane lane (huge houses all lit up, they even sell hot chocolate in front of their houses, they have carolers, hot cider, the works), watched lots of movies, lit the fireplace a lot, lots of hot cocoa, and baked goodies, hugs and naps.

muelu finally agreed to a haircut for kainoa, so you can see his handsome face now. they got all decked out for christmas eve at lola delia's house. kainoa's reaction to his presents from tita leah was the best. he was so happy w/the pack of cars she got him he could hardly stand it. he kept saying 'oh my my', 'i looooove cars'. we didn't go all out and kymora was fine with that. she loved her crafts she got. i am so happy she loves to make stuff.

a pic from the salanoa clan.

goofball

this kid is too funny. he's a typical boy for sure. i woke up one morning to find him giving his cars a car wash. since we have dirt in the yard, the water turned our yard into one big 'mudpuddle' as kainoa calls it. he was getting down and dirty in this mud puddle.

he loves to take a bath. but of course he has to have at least 2 cars in with him. he talks soo much. all i hear all day is mommmmmmmmm, mommmmmmm, or daaaaadddddd, daddddddd, or ate, ate.

the other day i noticed he was flooding in some jeans that were too big for him not too long ago. he is getting big way too fast.

at 3 years and 4 months kainoa is really really into... CARS still. max and ruby, wow wow wubzzy, apples, waffles, MEAT, backpacks (or rescue packs as he calls it), legos, and my pumpkin bread :) he really is so much fun.

thankful

we have a lot to be thankful for. i'm especially thankful for my parents and muelu's parents for being our biggest support system. thankful for our big extended family, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces, and grandparents. we love them so much.glad to have our health, children's health, jobs, motivation and love.

we've got a lot going on in our busy lives, but we have to remember to be thankful ;)
