kava turns 3

kava you turned 3 today!! these 3 years have just flown by! it seems like just yesterday that you were pulling on my leg in the kitchen not letting me cook. kava, you are one tough kid! you were the only one who would not let me out of sight. you were stuck on me so much that in the wee hours of the morning, you roll over to feel my arm. if i'm not there, you scream mammmmaaaaaaaaaa!! i have to ask you if i can go to the bathroom so you wont get out of bed crying. you also are the roughest and craziest. you have no sense of fear wheather it's dad getting mad at you or jumping off a high step at the park. but, with all that, in one gummy smile, crinkle of your eyes and nose, we give in and forget that moment that you broke the new 65" tv. yes, you did. and for 1 year, you blamed it on kainoa. to say you test us everyday is an understatement. but you also make us laugh everyday.

we are amazed that you know how to spell the most random words (yes spell) on the iphone. you know your alphabet and colors, and numbers, but when i asked if you're ready to use the toilet, you said, "NEVER".

you definitely hold your own and keep up with the older two. but, at the same time you absolutely adore your sister and brother. you are a tender heart with the ferocity of a lion :)

kava, you remind me to slow down everyday. we love you so much. we are so excited to watch you grow up into a wonderful man. you add so much to our lives. thank you!

Since Cars is such a hit in this house, of course Lola and Lolo had to buy this for Kava (and Noa, but he's too big lol)

Disneyland 2012

 

A friend at work has a daughter who works at Disneyland. She graciously gave us 4 tickets to the park. This was probably the best preChristmas/Christmas gift my kids could have gotten. Muelu and I told the kids they weren't going to school because we had appointments. As we drove to Anaheim and exited Disney way, they started to catch on. They proceeded to squeal for about 10 minutes.

We made some great memories that day. You guys all know Kainoa is a huge Cars fan. Well, he passed that on to Kava. We spent the entire day in Cali Adventure due to Carsland. The kids had a BLAST. Even Kymora said Carsland was the best part of the park. Our friend got us to the front line of Racers which I hear is one of the longest lines. Carsland was definitely right out of the movie.

There was so much to do we've even debated on getting passes.

Christmas and a look back at 2012

it's been a long time since i've blogged, so i just wanted to catch up on a few things before i forget or before my kids are old enough to drive.

we finally moved back to our old house. more room for everyone, but less back yard. boo. kyks finally has her own room, painted her favorite color decorated her own way. she's really getting older and bigger. she's almost as tall as me and acts just.like.me. she's a smart aleck  witty and sarcastic. but, yet she's very kind, empathetic, and athletic. not like me. she's in 5th grade this year and will go to OSS camp for a week. she's showing signs of pre-teen-ness every day. excited yet sad at the same time.

kainoa is a trip. this is his second year playing baseball and he's really showing a lot of progress and promise. he loves the game- thank goodness. he's tried every sport, and this is his fav. he's still quite the charmer and lady killer. this year, he kissed a girl on the lips. someone please help me. he's coming along in school, doing really well in math. i was nervous for 1st grade because Kindy was quite a challenge for him in the listening department. but, his teacher said he's a great listener and helper. the listening part i dont  believe so much ;)

kava. omg. kava. when you read this when you're older please remember that i love you. kava is quite the rug rat. if he was my first child, i'd be finished with kids. he is unlike the others. he's agressive, rowdy, loud, never runs out of energy, and all around crazy. he is now into the tantrum phase which makes it quite the pleasure to go to dinner or target. but, i wouldn't have it any other way. well maybe, xnay on the tantrums..:) he is really funny, especially when he breaks out in dance and song. gangham style and i love you by the beatles is on the top of his play list. he's reaaaaalllly into power rangers and anything with swords. he's 2 1/2 right now. and talking soooo much. i forgot how fun it is at the 2-3-4 ages.

these kids are what keep us going. on our toes every moment yet, tugging at our heartstrings at the same time.

this reminded me of this. walked into the hallway and kava was setting up his cars. just like kuya did. kainoa was 3 in the blog, kava 2. f l a s h b a c k.

Legoland 2012

that's where he wanted to go for his birthday! gasp! not carsland?! nope. tha't actually him on that roller coaster. noa loves them. ever since he was 3 when his dad took him to Knott's for his birthday, he's always loved them. he had a blast. we stayed in carlsbad and went 2 days. it was perfect because he got to enjoy parts of the park that we sorta rushed through the first day. kava was actually pretty good. (sorry kava, you're not really travel material. well, you weren't. hopefully when you can read this, things have changed).

kainoa got to see lego ninjago stuff - which he is so into right now. he had a good time. kyks was a trooper going on baby rides with kava. she said she liked legoland after all.

well, kainoa had a great birthday! s i x! oh my!

my boy is 6....

Mr. Kainoa. Oh, my, how you have grown so much. Funny- check, silly- check, love bug- super big check, sensitive- check, smart- check. You've learned a lot this year. You learned to boogie board (your fav), how to read, how to catch a ball IN YOUR GLOVE, and how to be a great big brother. you learned that more so this year. kava is 2 and he tests your patience, but, you're pretty good with him. you always make him feel better when he cries and give him lots of love. you still love your ate soooooo much. so much so that you your teacher asked you to draw your best friend and you drew ate. you follow her around and try to be like her. you're my little soft part in my heart, my first boy. you still ask me to lay with you at night- which i love. i love it when you say to me, 'hey! where's my kiss?' you're still a lover boy. mommas lover boy.

you are s i x. it's going fast, kainoa. kinder came and went so quick now it's 1st grade. i'm not ready at all for you to grow up. you were the baby for such a long time. but it's happening. all i can say is i'm glad to see you growing up to be a good boy. i know there's great things for you ahead. but for now just enjoy your lego ninjago, cars (yes, still), baseball, GUM- big league to be exact, school, coloring, bike riding, swimming... your childhood. i know i am.
