couldn't resist!

contrary to what my recent blogs have been about, i do not have favorites. when i was home sick i was on you tube trying to learn about my camera. kyks wasn't home, so i was experimenting with kainoa. (photo above is how he smiles now;)
he just has so many faces, i had to post! as my dad would say in the 70's about me, 'the many moods of kainoa'... (he actually named a photo album of me 'the many moods of autumn' haha)

pouting cause i wouldn't let him take 'smiles' of me on my camera:
trying a to play with some of my settings, so he force smiles:

and my favorite:
not sure if it's cause he looks like my tito pidong here (who i miss so much) or what... but i really like this one.
btw, i did not master my white balance, aperture, iso. my pictures came out grainy which means my aperture was slow, blah blah. anyway, i still like these shots.

next post- kyks! ;)

home w/my boy

kymora is off at a play date. well, it's her bf's bday and they are at boomers. I'm home sick and kai is w/me. how i loove staying home with him. so far he took a nap on my chest (like old times), threatened to pee in his pants, and requested NASCAR on tv. yes, deep down he is a hick from iowa or something. he's so into cars (yes, still) that he loves to watch racing. wth. i hate that stuff. muelu and i joke that his ulitimate dream would be to watch the INDY 500.

btw, as 'boyish' as his is w/cars and digging dirt holes, we caught him w/kymora's microphone singing to hanna montana.

he's almost 3!! oh, no. what will i do when he starts school? :(

mixed bag

random:

why did i almost have a heart attack when i saw this:
kymora has planted sunflowers:
almost
a bloom!
kainoa is funny as heck:
he has us laughing all day. i don't want to type some of the stuff he says because i don't want to offend anyone ;) but seriously, i loooooove this age. he's almost 3.. sheesh.. they grow as fast as the sunflowers do. :(
oh, and finally he's potty trained!

backyard camping!

that's what we did for kymora's bday. i loved this party! it was very small (5 girls) and NO ADULTS! those that know me, know that my parties are normally very big (100+) and it's not by choice. my family and muelu's family are huge. it's either we have one huge party or 2 small (not really that small still about 30 people, each) parties. and that gets very tiring.

this year, since she is getting older (sigh) she had a slumber party. our good friends shannon and czery's kids and the next door neighbor.
muelu pitched a tent in the yard that had 2 rooms, one for us of course. they swam and played on the waterslide all day. they made tie dyed shirts and played board games.
at night, they roasted smores:
then we topped off the evening with a movie on the projector and ghost stories. kymora even played a 'trick' on her dad. the old shaving cream in hand.. it's was so cute.
we, i mean, she had a blast. muelu and i said this was the best party she's had. (muelu btw, was dad of the year for this one. bbqn', made the cupcakes, pitched the tent. hmmm, what did i do?)

birthday girl

my baby is officially 7 years old now. where did time go? it seems like just yesterday that she laid on the couch pillow and looked so tiny on it. now, she is almost to my chin asking me if she can have skinny jeans :)

my girl is pretty awesome though. she absolutely loves to cook, or help cook. she's a great help around the house (she started making the rice for us;). she's a great big sister, over protective at times, a teacher at other times. but, don't get me wrong, they do fight like cats and dogs, too.

we are so much a like, it's scary. but, in the same respect, she is very different from me. she's athletic, loves to dance (me, not so much), loves to show case such listed talents.

anyway, i'm very proud of kymora. this year she stood up for what she believes in with some 'fast' classmates. she is all about family. she is loyal everyone she loves. this makes me just want to put her in a glass jar so no one will ever hurt her.

i used to say i wanted a boy first, but i'm so happy she was my first born. she's my girl.
happy birthday, kymora. we love you.

may is the month of firsts!

lots of firsts this month!

1. first time kainoa went on our infamous water slide. he was too young last summer, and technically he is too small this summer. but that isn't going to stop him. he tried it once, howled, and went back for more.
2. first time we went camping as a family (meaning now we have kids, no more just me and muelu :(
3. first time kymora learned how to ride a bike (she learned in about, oh um.. 15 minutes when we were camping)
4. first time muelu and kymora went fishing.. and muelu caught 2 fish!

these are some of the girls kymora has grown up with. her mom and i were prego at the same time and have been bff ever since (l-r: jade, kyks, montanna)
kainoa became your ordinary archaeologist. digging for lord knows what, collecting rocks then throwing them in the creek and sometimes at small children (sorry shan)
we had a great time. it was too quick though :(

the chicks
the fellas

these 2 are thick as thieves now. just a couple more years and they will be best buds. they like the same thing: trouble.. :) all day all i heard was "evan! kainoa!"soon, this guy will join the crew:
one last shot of part of the crew. they had a blast. the parents did as well!
