catching up

i'm all late... i've been lagging on posting for easter, or the month of april for that matter. easter was good. kymora had 3 easter parties. she got tons of candy, coins and toys of course. the baby was good. just watched all the ruckus...

today (almost a week after easter) we did a lot of cleaning. moving furniture around. frankly, i'm tired of the way my house looks. but oh well, a little bit at a time. trying to be patient.

today kainoa had his 6 month check up (kinda late, but better late than never:) poor baby had 4 shots. i am trying to get him off thumb sucking, slowly. i just gently pull out his hand whenever he goes for it. it's kind of hard, especially at night, but i just don't want him to be 4 and still sucking his thumb.
but of course today, i gave in. he cried really hard for a few seconds when he got his shots. the rest of the day he was whiny and cranky. for those of you who have been around kainoa, he's just not that kind of baby. so, when we went for his thumb, i just sat back and let him suck away. i gave him some motrin to relieve the pain, but nothing soothes him like his good ol' thumb.
ah, there's always next week to try again ;)


**side notes: kainoa weighs 16.5 lbs is 27 inches. dr. chen says he's kind of under weight, but really long. tall and thin? why not.

ok, i know i owe an update on kymora and her new room. well, needless to say, she loved it! she came home from vegas around 10ish. we lit up her lights and surprised her. she cried (very emotional cancer) and thanked us. such a sweetie.

some cool stuff happening this week. kymora is at the beginning stages of reading. we are so proud of her! she's 4, and in pre-k, so she is learning how to read 3 letter words. on weds she brought this home, something she read in school. gooo kymora!
in other news, kymora learned how to blow bubbles w/her gum... i think that excited her more than the reading.

kymora had a busy, fun weekend. friday she went to california adventure with her lolo and arianne. my dad spoils her so much. if kymora doesn't have school, he takes her to knotts, or disneyland, or california adventure. we are so lucky to have parents who love our kids and do fun stuff with them. i sure don't remember going to amusement parks that much when i was little ;/

other than that, we had a nice weekend. saturday, we just hung out with rommel and his daughter jaden. their back yard is seal beach. pretty cool. no swimming, just lots of sea shell hunting.
sunday, kymora and i watched 'meet the robinsons' with her friend jadyn (same name, different girl, different spelling:) and her mom chris. the boys hung out and got the car washed. fun fun. i took advantage of the nice sunny weekend and got some shots of the kids. kainoa is getting so big. he is sooo ticklish under his neck. i barely have to touch him and he cracks up. he is still such the snuggler. i call him my lover boy, much to muelu's objection. he sure is a momma's boy.

for kymora that is. she is in vegas with my mom and dad, some aunts and cousins. she left on friday and she is still isn't home :( while she was away, muelu and i fancied up her new room. FINALLY she got her bed. it's kind of weird, but now we do not have ANY kinds in our bed. kainoa is in the crib and kyks in her bed. everyone says i'll love it, but i kind of miss them...

too bad it'll be too late for her to eat them. she'll be asleep when she gets home too, so she can't see her newly renovated room. :(
it was weird with out her this weekend. just us 3, didn't seem right but it was nice to have some alone time with baby and muelu.
i think he knows his sister isn't home. dont' you? he looks sad...

well, i'll just have to post about her 'surprise' tomorrow.. till then...

today was kymora's piano teacher's 81st birthday. kymora has been talking about attending her birthday for the past 2 weeks. daddy stayed home with kainoa b'cuz he was feeling a little under the weather. kymora had a good time. she loves watching ballroom dancing. the party was held at the rec hall where aling charito lives. it's a senior area so obviously, there were a lot of seniors. kymora is a big fan of ballroom dancing, so it was hard getting her to leave.

6 months, baby!

half way to a year old! my, how time flies! i had to rush out and take these shots the day he turned 6 (mar 16:) still not crawling or holding a bottle, but he still lets me snuggle w/out trying to wiggle free- that's what counts!

he's pretty big, that's why i added the pic of him laying down. he's a long guy.
lots to celebrate this weekend. viliamu, muelu's cousin, got married on saturday. kymora was outside looking for rolly pollies, in her party dress.

of course, she found one. she wanted to know if she could take him to the wedding.... i don't think so.

98 degrees?!

we have not had that kind of weather in Long Beach in a while. so what did we do? we took advantage of it, of course! thanks to muelu's cousin amani, we went swimming on sunday. kymora, our little fish, was super excited. kainoa was on his best behavior, again. he took a 2 hour nap, sat on my lap, and just people watched. all the kids love him. kymora got out of the pool around 7pm, but only because we MADE her. otherwise, she could have kept going despite having a bad case of the shivers :) what a trooper.

and since we are on a h20 blog... kainoa and his bath. we have 2 fishes in this house.. he loves bath time.
