#proud

Stepped back and realized today how proud i am of my kids.

Kainoa won a DJ party at school today because he sold a lot of cookie dough. He was the only one in his class who won. As a prize, he got to go to a DJ party (think dance). Hours were from 1 to 2:15 pm. He tells me he was shy because he didn't know anyone. But after  few snacks, he said he danced the entire time. He tells me he was really happy because he knew almost all of the songs and had a good time. I was so proud of him for overcoming his shyness and making the best out of what could have been a bad situation. I really doubt I would've enjoyed myself at a party if I didn't know anyone. Kainoa on the other hand just did what he loved- danced!

To add to his great day, he had baseball practice at the batting cages. He was so scared of the fast pitch and was nervous because his normal partner (dad) wasn't there. He cried and told me he wanted to go home. He wanted to quit baseball. But, I asked him to just try it and see if it was something he could do. After a bit of pep talking and bribery he batted. He was horrible, hitting only one ball. Again, he cried and wanted to leave. I said, just try one more time. Being a good boy, he did.  He did better. The 3rd time, even better. At the end of practice, coach told him he did a good job. Kainoa was so proud of himself. He felt great for not quitting and for sticking it out. I was suuuper proud. He had a great day!

Here's my boy at open house. Doing well in school and finding out who he is as a young man. Proud!

Proud of this little lady too :)

Got her 2nd semester report card and she got all A's and 2 B's. But, that's not the best part. She improved in every subject.  Kyks is becoming such a great young lady.

Also, her team finally won a tournament! Rock Star Cup 2014 champs. Good job, ate! Proud!

And of course this little dude. He will start PRE K in march.... Sad. But yet, Proud! He's crazy but super loveable. Make me PROUD in school little man!! 3 years old here. :) he thought he looked so cool because of his hair do. lol

we love you guys and you guys will always make mommy and daddy PROUD. xo

Summer 2013

I can't believe i didn't even blog the beach house trip! We had a great time in San Diego summer 2013. These kids were in the water every day the entire trip. They boogie boarded (big kids), made sand castles, dug holes (kava), made s'mores... basically relaxed. it was so nice just us. the kids were forced  enjoying each others company since it was just the 3 of them. It was so nice to see them all get along. We plan to make this an annual trip since we had such a nice time.

Hurry summer 2014!!!

2014 eeek!

Can't believe it's 2014. We've been blessed with so much. To a great new year!

regrets

I normally don't have a lot of regrets. The other day, I was going through my blog and realized how much i regret not keeping up my blog. You kids are growing up so fast. So much is happening. I need to do this.

Kava is 3. He is getting big so fast. He is cracks us up every single day. The only kid that has a lisp and can't pronounce L (hewwo, for  hello, wook it, for look it). He is also the most hard headed of the bunch. Sorry, Kava but it ain't no secret. You're alwayyyyys in trouble. But, sometimes you just have to give me that smile where your eyes crinkle and all is forgotten. You LOVE LOVE LOVE your Kuya Kainoa. You guys are 2 peas in a pod. Always exploring the back yard, looking for worms and other nasty boy stuff. Kava loves to dig holes too. Or dig a hole. He digs the same hole in the yard, we joke that one day he'll find China. He also has this fetish with my arm- at night. He looks for it and kisses it, hugs it, or will say, MOM WHERE'S  YOUR ARM? I joke and say i'm going to wear a sweatshirt and he gets so mad. He's quite the character. If he loses his shoe or toy, he'll say "shooooeeee where are you?" or  "car? caaaarrrr. where are you?" it's so cute. i'm going to be so sad when he starts school.

I really need to blog more.

Happy 7th birthday, my noa

Happy birthday, my dear, sweet, Kainoa.

You have grown up so much! I love seeing your little personality develop. You are my emotional, sensitive, sweet boy. You are quite the talker (especially when we get in the car) and  you still love baseball. I bet your perfect summer would be on a beach in hawaii eating burgers and drinking shakes. You love so many random things. As of today you love Teen Age Mutant Ninja Turtles (you are finally out of the Cars stage!), baseball, basketball, stuffed animals (much to my objection), In N Out, and movies. You are truly a kid. Super playful and silly and so innocent and pure. You're a great big brother. You also love to do what ever your sister does.

Enjoy your day. We love you sooo much.

Soccer and Baseball

The two olders love their sports right now. Kainoa has played 2 seasons of regular season baseball and one season of fall ball. He has shown great improvement. He just loves being a part of a team.

This year 2013, they were the San Diego Padres

And of course, Kymora still loving soccer. This past year was tough for her. She transitioned from one team to this new one. 2012-2013 was not the best season, but 2013-2014 should be a good learning expirience for them.  We can't wait.

Grease...our common ground

So, when I was about 5 I was completely in love with the movie Grease. My mom or tita Lennie (one of those ladies who raised me ;) even bought me a pink satin jacket so I could pretend I was a Pink Lady.

Well, about 30 years later (omg, DID I REALLY JUST SAY THAT?!) My kids are hook, line and sinker on that movie.

My dad introduced it to them via VHS (yes, he did, girl). I am proud to say it has been on heavy rotation at my parents house for the past few weeks. I love hearing Go Grease Lightning, or Brusha brusha brusha. Kava looooves all the songs.

Here's his rendition of Oh Sandy.. ahahaaahahaaa
